Jump Qualification - List Updated 1/1/09

Jump qualification procedures are established in Section 3070 of the USSA Competition Guide.

All off-axis jumps, inverted jumps and spins greater than 1080 degrees rotation require that a qualification form be completed by a certified coach prior to an athlete performing the jump in competition. These rules apply to all Mogul, Dual Mogul, Slopestyle and Aerial events. Athletes and coaches are highly encouraged to review these qualification procedures in the USSA Competition Guide as a new rule for an additional on snow qualification was added in the Spring of 2008. The dates and procedure for on snow qualification for 2008-2009 are available here: click here. Eastern Freestyle will be maintaining a tracking list of all jumps that require a qualification process. To prevent a DSQ, coaches need to ensure that their athletes are properly qualified and ensure that they are on the Eastern Freestyle list prior to the start of an event. Independent Eastern Division athletes must receive proper qualification through an appropriately certified coach. Non-Eastern Division athletes need to demonstrate proper qualification to the Eastern office by the event registration deadline. Athletes performing upright jumps, and spins less than 1080 degrees in rotation also need to qualify these jumps with their coach prior to competitions. However, coaches are not required to register these jumps with USSA or Eastern Freestyle. Please coordinate updates to this list with either: Deb Newson: chair@easternfreestyle.org.
