WHERE DO I START?
Join a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Competition Club for professional programming, coaching, and logistical support.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A U.S. SKI AND SNOWBOARD MEMBERSHIP?
Register for a U.S. Ski and Snowboard Membership. All athletes competing in the EQS "B" Series and the ECS "A' Series must have a competitor's license. A "general" membership is not valid for Eastern Freestyle competitions.
WHEN DO I NEED A FIS LICENSE?
A FIS license is required to compete at FIS events, including the FIS Nor-Am Tour, U.S. Championships, and Junior Worlds. FIS licenses can be secured directly through the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Membership.
WHAT IS THE COMPETITION PIPELINE?

The Eastern Freestyle Division of U.S. Ski and Snowboard offers aerials, moguls, dual moguls, and slopestyle competitions for new and young competitors in the EQS "B" Series. These events are scored according to the Eastern Points List and provide opportunities for athletes to qualify for State Champs and Young Gun and Junior Championships.

The ECS "A" Series provides competition for skilled, older athletes to qualify for Junior Nationals, U.S. Championships, and FIS events.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR AN EASTERN FREESTYLE EVENT?
Registration for Eastern Freestyle events is outsourced to HF Tech, Inc.

Eastern 4: Registration/Fees/Late Fees/Wait List
Eastern 4.1: All Eastern Freestyle-Freeskiing entry fees for competitions shall include lift tickets and are subject to price limits promulgated by the EFCC.
Eastern 4.1.1: Special circumstances may result in a resort/club not adhering to this policy. Resorts/Clubs should discuss these special circumstances with the division chair.
Eastern 4.2: Advance registration for all Eastern Freestyle-Freeskiing competitions is required online via the Eastern Freestyle-Freeskiing website.
Eastern 4.3: Once online registration closes, competitors must register at the on-site event registration and will incur the following penalties:
Eastern 4.3.1: Athletes who register late on-site will be charged a $15 late fee per competition (NOT PER EVENT).
Eastern 4.3.2: Athletes will be placed at the beginning of the run order in the ECS "A" level and at the beginning of their age group in the EQS "B" level.
Eastern 4.4: ECS "A" level dual moguls registrations must be received before the team leaders' meeting on the afternoon prior to the day of the dual moguls event. Coaches are responsible for checking the registration list at the team leaders' meeting. Unless the jury finds due cause to make an addition or deletion to the run order and re-run the heats, there will be no changes to the dual run order on the morning of the event.
Eastern 4.5: Current USFST and USFT members are welcome at all ECS "A" level events and are not subject to pre-registration requirements or the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Eastern divisional fee. These athletes will be considered above and beyond the quotas for the event.
Eastern 4.6: Registration for EQS "B" level events will open for in-region athletes on Monday night, three weeks before the event. Registration for EQS "B" level events will open for out-of-region athletes on Monday night, two weeks before the event. (Please see EQS 4 for more information about the EQS Regional Assignments.)
Eastern 4.7: If an EQS "B" Series event fills its quota, the registration link will allow six athletes to register for a $10 waitlist spot. The waitlisted athletes will be highlighted at the bottom of the event info sheet. If waitlisted athletes gain entry to the event, they will be contacted via email.

If the refund request meets the rules listed below, the refund will be processed immediately as an e-coupon to be used for your next registration. The coupon will automatically appear in your account the next time you register for an event. If the e-coupon is not used by the end of the season, the refund amount will be credited back to the original credit card, or a refund check will be issued to the competitor.

Eastern 5: Refund Policy and Procedure from the Eastern Rules Addendum
​Eastern 5.1: Athlete Cancellations - An athlete must request a refund 48 hours before the start of the event; the athlete will receive a full refund.
Eastern 5.2: Injuries - If an athlete is injured before the event, they will receive a full refund as long as the request is submitted within 72 hours of the last event day in the competition. For example, if Sunday is the last day of the competition, the refund email request must be received by 11:59 pm on Wednesday.
Eastern 5.3: Injuries - If an athlete is injured on the day of the event, they will not receive a refund.
Eastern 5.4: Event Cancellations—If an event is canceled at any point on the day of the event, the organizer is not obligated to refund registration fees.
Eastern 5.5: Event Cancellations—The athlete receives a full refund if an event is canceled before its start date.
HOW DO I DETERMINE AN ATHLETE'S RANKING?
Athlete Ranking – EQS "B" competitions are scored according to the Eastern Points List (EPL), while the ECS "A' Series is scored according to the National Points List, FSP.
